Having completed my principalship at Templeton School at the end of Term One, the opportunity to provide Professional Mentoring and Support on behalf of the CPPA is a real privilege.
My previous experience as an NZEI Counsellor and as a School Management Adviser for Support Services gave me valuable insight into connecting with school principals. Further to this, working as a Principals Development Planning Centre Facilitator and as an Area Relationship Manager added to my association with Principals locally and nationally.
I am willing to support principals in any way I can, and with Maureen Kerr, offer a range of leadership and professional experience along with practical advice and support
I am excited to have been appointed by the CPPA to the .5 position of Principal Mentoring and Support. I believe this type of support is critical for all school leaders, especially given the challenges and issues we are currently facing here in Canterbury.
I hope to bring a wide range of skills and experiences to the role and I look forward to working with you, as the highest quality education for our children is, and must always be, our greatest priority. After 14 years as a school principal, over 9 years as a leadership and management adviser, and having completed a Master of Educational Leadership, I have developed a real interest in all facets of leadership, particularly educational leadership.
I enjoy working with leaders motivating and encouraging them as they re-energise their leadership skills and strengthen their personal capabilities and competencies.
